Scholarship, five hundred dollars, social science award, one hundred dollars, finally getting her drivers liscence, priceless.
Ok, so the driver’s liscence did have a pricetag but since my mom has been after me to get it for years, it’s priceless.
Some of you may be wondering why my post is titled graduation part 2. Well, in my province in Canada, we have the option of staying for five years instead of four. There are two ways to do it, take your grade 12 english which is your last compulsary credit in grade 12, graduate and come back or take it in grade “13″. I took my english last year in grade 12 and graduated in June 2007. I received my diploma, some other stuff that’s my school only, four year band award and the French Award that came with a lovely $300 cheque.
My vice principal called the other day while I was at a friends house hanging out and asked if I was going because I was “nominated” for an award and he would and I quote “really appreciated it if you were there”. So I went, did the whole gown thing and ceremony again. Last night after the scholarship banquet (where I got $500) my music/band teacher saw me with my gown and I told him that I had been “nominated” and he said I wouldn’t have been asked to come if I didn’t win anything. Today while at band rehearsal, Mrs. Snodden said I would be really happy tonight. Turns out I won the social science award
Because Sarah and I played with the band (we both graduated last year) we had to sit behind the teachers and one of my teachers Mr. C was gestering to me and had his thumb up and I turn to Sarah after he turned away and I was like I think he’s loosing his mind. His signature is on the paper part of my award. I also got a cute little trophy to go with it.
I love my school and my teachers and I’m going to miss them terribly.
Welcome to Shimmerin Angel!
