Breakin’ Dishes

June 3rd, 2009

You guys wanna know what I find annoying? Dishes, or more exactly, piles of dishes. While I am guilty of letting my dishes pile up. I try to keep my dishes that I eat from pile up in my room until I’m ready to wash them. In the last 2 weeks alone, I’ve done huge amounts of dishes every other day or so because they pile up. Now I know that I’m not working and my roomates are so I try to pitch in by not saying anything and just doing their dishes and mine, ALL the time. I try to take out the compost when its full, and the white recycling bags and OK, so I’m guilty of letting the blue ones pile up. I try to keep the counters and the stove clean. I’m trying to make an effort. What I don’t appreciate is what my roomate did today.

My room is right under the kitchen. I can hear when people are doing dishes or puttering about. Rarely do I ever hear the sink being turned on for more then just a few dishes. I woke up this morning with one of my roomates at the sink with a huge pile of done dishes. (The dishes had piled up so I was planning on doing them today, or at least make a bit of a dent in them today!) I figured ya! About time someone else is doing massive pile of dishes. So I make lunch, put the cutting board and knife I used in the sink with the intentions of doing them when I came back. I go grocery shopping and while I’m putting my grocery’s away, I notice a note over the sink saying please do your dishes, please take out the trash etc.

Someone want to inform me why she has the right to be mad about doing a huge pile of dishes for like the 2nd time since I moved in like a month and a half ago? Cause I don’t get it. How the hell does she get to be mad and I do this all the time? I’m not going to say anything to her because I don’t want to start a fight but geeze…I’m just mad right now. I’ve been getting annoyed that I feel like I’m the only one who does the dishes that pile up (even if like 40% of them are mine… but still). Like I know some of the girls do theirs right away, but only sometimes. It’s just baffling….
