A Thanksgiving Where Everything Goes Wrong Except the Food

October 13th, 2008

Wow, so what didn’t go wrong this thanksgiving? Of course, the only thing that went right was the food, amazingly nothing got burnt!

So I went to my dad’s this weekend. So here’s a basic rundown of the weekend.

Saturday:
We went to waterford for the pumpkin festival. One problem, it wasn’t that weekend, it was in two weekends. So we went to Simcoe on a whim and ended up finding a country fair. It was pretty awesome. We ended up having to leave early because my step-sister, Alicia, was being a selfish little bitch. She had seen monkey bars back in Waterford and all she could think of all day was “I want to go to the monkey bars! Can we go to the park now?!” Holly shit, you selfish little brat. All you care about is what you want. Nevermind that it’s your mom’s birthday and we had gone to the pumpkin festival because she wanted too and then she was super excited when we found the fair in Simcoe. That’s all Alicia ever does. She wants what she wants and doesn’t fucking care about anything. Yes I realize that kids at 11 years old are slightly selfish, but imagine taking 20 selfish 11 year olds and creating 1 child out of them. Now you have an idea what my step-sister is like.

Other than the fact that my sister’s a bitch, we had a good day. I had fun. I have a little moon charm on my necklace and I’ve been looking for a sun one for a while and I finally found one! I’m happy now lol.

Sunday
My step sister had flooded the toilet in the basement so my dad had taken the shop vacuum to suck the water up before it damanged the carpet down there and when he plugged it in, it shorted out. He went out to the fusebox to try and fix it and no matter what he did, it wouldn’t go back on. We lost power in the entire basement, downstairs hallway and garage (where the fusebox is). He went out and bought all new fuses, and nada. He finally got power in half of the basment(thankfully the half that has my bed in but the TV on the other side, the small bathroom and the garage and hall lights still don’t work. He had to get an extension cord and plugg the freezer that’s out there in upstairs. Like he has any money to pay for a repair bill. Next the passenger window on the van wouldn’t go up. My stepmom managed to get it up, but still. Alicia also broke some of the furniture downstairs so my dad’s like super pissed at her right now.

On the bright side, I got to see my grandmother this weekend xD

Infrared Saunas?

October 9th, 2008

You know, I’ve always wanted a sauna. I’ve been in a few while I’ve stayed in hotels, but I’ve always thought of getting my own. I’ve recently heard about these Infrared Sauna that are suppose to help with pain relief, clogged pores, sunburns, scaring, acne, menstruation pain, ulcers, high blood pressure and even Weight Loss (burn up to 900 cal. in a 30 min. session!) I mean what women wouldn’t want a quick and easy to way to clean her pores and get rid of menstruation pains at the same time? I certainly would!

I’m definitely getting my own far infrared saunas and I think you should too. What do you have to loose? It helps with so many ailments.

So much to do in so little time

October 4th, 2008

I have a midterm on monday for woman studies, one on tuesday night for sociology. I have a personal response paper due on wednesday for anthropology which is like 20% of my final mark. On the bright side, the rough draft for the essay is done. I just need to go over my friends suggestions and do some minor editing.

So two of my suitemates (K and L) were in K’s room last night between 3ish and apparantly they left the door unlocked. Some people apparantly walked into our suite, went into our standup freezer, took pizza (that some of my suitemates had just bought!), and some other stuff from our fridge like eggs. They took the egg carton that L and K share and took like 3 or 4 eggs from my carton. They also took our freezies. K and L realized what happened and chased after them, like within an hour after they left. They found our freezies in the stairwell and we got them back. Apparantly the perps didn’t like what was in my shelf in the stand up freezer. My loaf of bread that was in the front was moved a shelf up. All I have in there is perogies, pork, chicken and beef that are cut up for stirfries, shrimp ring for stirfries and 2 packs of oriental veggie mix.

I went into the hall this morning to see what had all happened out there last night and at the bottom of suite 4.3, there were white things and I didn’t know where they were. Found out later that eggs from our suite had been taken. Guess I found out where the eggs went lol.

We had another fire drill last night. Fairly early too! It wasn’t even 1 am yet lol. On the ground floor almost infront of the elevator, there was a broken jar of pickles. Glass, juice and pickles were on the floor. I really feel bad for the cleaning staff in my res. It’s generally trashed every weekend. I think this was the worst weekend though.

On the bright side, the new season of Vampire Knight starts on the 6th in Japan. Hopefully subbed versions will be appearing on youtube relatively soon.  I finished reading the first volume of the manga this morning. I’ve reserved vols. 2-4. I’m the 6th person in line for the 4th one and I would have been 3rd for the 5th one. Which is silly so I figured that I might want to wait until I’m like the 2nd or 1st one for vol 4 before I reserve vol 5.
