I went shopping with my mom yesterday. She had to pick up some groceries and I needed to get some stuff. I bought a new bag, two pairs of shoes and two new sunglasses. I needed a new purse because my current one is breaking and falling apart. My sunglasses that I JUST bought broke too. I love the new ones though. I can’t believe how much I spent though! Over $100 yesterday. It’s really scary how much I spent. It made me feel really good to have new things though!

I went to the public library yesterday to get a few books. When I couldn’t find them on the shelves I looked them up on the computer. It said they were there but the books were no where to be found. One of the librarians who I know, M, said that they were most likely stolen. I had most of the books in that series at home and I returned them today. There was one of the books there, but the book that was between that one and the last one I read was missing. It just makes me really mad that people would steal from a library! The books are free anyway! Why would you steal from the library?! You can take it out as many times as you want. I can see stealing from a bookstore, but a library. That just pisses me off. How low can people go? Apparently over 400 books have been stolen in the last 3 years from our town library. People are idiots, I swear to god!

P.S. Kleptocracy is a word believe it or not.

It really annoys me as well, I mean its so nasty, you don’t have to pay for anything in the library, and yet still people steal!

Shopping can make you feel good, but that’s just the big corporations making you think you need to shop and buy more more more to feel like a good person. It’s silly really. I’m not saying it’s not nice to have nice things, but out of that 100$ you spent, how many things do you NEED in your life?

That’s what I think about when I go out shoping. It stops me from spending too much money and putting too much money into the pockets of billionaires leading these corporations.

I used to love going to the library but decided to just purchase the books instead of buying them. I like how books look in my house plus I can just read them whenever I want without having to return them. I like the whole library atmosphere though.

I just went to the library yesterday to find some books, and I couldn’t find ones that were supposedly there either. It was very annoying. Then the books I did find had pages missing.

Aww, that sucks about the books being stolen. :/ I used to love going to the library and spending all day just reading. I hardly have time to read anymore, what with college and all. I’m graduating in the next few weeks though and have several untouched books waiting for me!

It’s surprising to see how much vandalism and theft are going on in libraries in an era where so few people even use them. Sorry to hear about your trouble trying to get a hold of those books.

I’m sure some of them are stolen…but some might be just because people forgot to check them out. I have left in a rush before and forgotten to check out. I took them back as soon as I realized…but still. :/

I love buying new stuff / getting new stuff I just hate having to buy them, haha. Those are really cute shoes : ) I don’t understand why people would steal from a library either :l and how do they get past the sensors?

Your font is quite small, especially when typing here on the comments area, I can hardly read what I am typing. The font is almost the same color as the background color of the textarea… anyway, that bag is quite cute

Ah that sucks about books being stolen, that’s one of the reasons we don’t have a decent library in our town anymore.

My favourite library doesn’t even have the complete set of my favourite series any longer. It saddens me greatly. I don’t see why some people just can’t return the books after they borrowed them. They don’t need to get a plane, do they? Haha. It’s so annoying.

I hope you find the books you need soon… But I don’t really understand why people would steal old books from the library. I now only read e-books and e-journals, though. At least they can’t be stolen the same way.

Nice score on the shopping! I tend to get a bit naughty and blow a lot of money! But sometimes you just HAVE to do it and it makes you a lot happier.

I know what you mean, people stealing from the library is really not very nice at all. Especially when the books might be needed by others who do not have the means to purchase them. *sigh*

I totally understand you on the library books thing - why steal them when they’re free to borrow? And who wants to steal a BOOK anyway?!

I can’t believe people who steal books that the gouverment have to buy to make them free. It doesn’t make any sense!
